I Did It Again a détenu le record de l’album le plus vendu par une artiste féminine aux États-Unis pendant quinze ans. En 2021, la tutelle prend fin à la suite de son témoignage public dans lequel elle accuse son équipe et sa famille de mauvais traitements.

His awards include ten Grammy Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, three Brit Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, the Contemporary Icon Award by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and MTV's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
