Boris Paul Vian (Ville-d'Avray, 10 de Março de 1920 — Paris, 23 de Junho de 1959), foi um Polimata (engenheiro, escritor, Poeta, Tradutor e cantautor francês), identificado com o movimento surrealista e ao anarquismo enquanto filosofia política. Hoje em dia é sobretudo lembrado pelos seus romances e canções. O seu estilo caracterizou-se por ser altamente individual, com numerosas palavras inventadas e enredos surrealistas passados sempre num universo muito próprio do autor. Como exemplo, o seu romance Outono em Pequim não se passa nem no Outono nem em Pequim!

Para além da sua veia literária, Vian foi também um membro muito influente no Jazz francês, servido de elemento de ligação em Paris de Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington e Miles Davis. Escreveu inúmeros artigos para as revistas de Jazz Le Jazz hot e Paris Jazz e até mesmo em revistas norte-americanas da especialidade.

Escreveu muitas canções que alcançaram e continuam a alcançar uma grande notoriedade fazendo hoje parte do património cultural francês como Le Déserteur, La Java des bombes atomiques. Chegou a ter uma banda Jazz formada por si e pelos seus dois irmãos que tocava no famoso clube de Jazz do Quartier Latin Le Tabou. Vian foi o responsável pelo lançamento de vários intérpretes da canção Francesa, nomeadamente Serge Reggiani e Juliette Gréco.

Hildegard Frieda Albertine Knef (German: [ˈhɪldəɡaʁt ˈkneːf] ; 28 December 1925 – 1 February 2002) was a German actress, singer, voice actress and writer. While she was known in the German-speaking countries as Hildegard Knef, she became known (much to her dislike) from 1948 to ca. 1968 outside the German-speaking world as Hildegard Neff. In 1950 she became a US citizen and then in 2001 renewed her German citizenship.

Knef began her acting career at the end of World War II in Berlin and became a screen star soon afterward through her involvement with films like Die Mörder Sind Unter Uns (Murderers Among Us) (1946) and Film Ohne Titel (Film Without A Title) (1948). She also played the lead role in the controversial, partially censored melodrama Die Sünderin (The Sinner) (1950), and was attracted by offers of international roles in the 1950s. She played the lead role in a Broadway musical (Silk Stockings by Cole Porter) in New York. From the 1960s on, she built her career in Germany as a pop-singer and author of books (in particular her memoirs entitled Der Geschenkte Gaul (The Gift Horse).
